CLASSIC W/ STYLE: INTERNATIONAL THEME EVENT

When I was young me and my sister used to play as Indian Princesses..we love their colorful costumes..our mother used to scold us for using blankets as SARIS...wraping it around our bodies in so many ways. The word “sari” comes from a Sanskrit word that just means cloth.

My sister and I also put Sequins in our foreheads as BINDIs.
Preparing for this event brings me back to my childhood days.

CLASSIC W/ STYLE: CREATIVE DANCE THEME

I was so excited when I heard of the theme... I have spent lindens to buy the outfit that I want...I have thought of belly dancing or a cabaret outfit..but i said since its common a lot of models might come up with those ideas...I wanted to show off something different, something anybody might not appreciate on first look but when they know the reason why i chose this outfit they would understand..I come up the runway nervous though not expecting to win Im hoping to be considered since when I went backstage Im the only one which is different..Even the well known Xenobia Foxclaw who have won several competetions with classic appreciated the golden outfit Im wearing. Xen's words gave me a little bit of a confidence..I came up the stage with the following lines:

For tonight’s Styling Creative Dance Theme I have decided to have a VINTAGE DANCE OUTFIT.

When we talk of Vintage Dance who would not have known of Josephine Baker an African American expatriate entertainer and actress. Most noted as a singer, Baker also was a celebrated dancer in her early career. She was given the nicknames the "Bronze Venus" or the "Black Pearl", as well as the "Créole Goddess".

Josephine Baker captured the spirit of the 1920's with her 100 megawatt smile and her scanty sometimes topless costumes. Baker's iconic performance style has also been influential. BAKER'S BANANA SKIRT, in particular, has made numerous media appearance. A dancer wore one in Sir-Mix-A-Lot's 1991 video for "Baby Got Back", and Beyoncé wore one when performing for CBS's 2006 Fashion Rocks. During her performance, images of Baker were projected on a large screen above the stage.

Ladies and gentlemen I’m proud to present her iconic "Banana Dance" cabaret costume designed for SL by THEODOTE CARTHAGE from the famous Couture of Vintage Dresses CARTUNNO COUTURE. I put on a modesty component in this outfit since topless isn't my thing.
CARTUNNO COUTURE named this entire outfit VINTAGE JOSEPHINE. I choose an ETD Sofia hair to compliment the 1920 outfit..and this is Josephine Bakers Belly dance.
MY skin is from REDGRAVE and shape from FLEUR VIVANT. I chose a Bronze Tan to be able to get close to Baker's Title "Bronze Venus".

Hugs Seree :-)

Unfortunately, I didnt win..A Hawaiian outfit, A Belly dancer outfit, and a Ballerina won the event..A photographer among the audience approached me and said.." If I were the judge you wouldve won...well from a photographer's point of view" I told him..."Oh thank you but I respect the judges decision..I have lots to learn maybe its not yet my time to shine."

BENINGBOROUGH: RED CARPET GLAMOUR

In Celebration of the famous Designer's New Store opening at Saint LLC-House of Beningborough, Bliss offered an eye opening price of 50,000L$ for this months Model Awards winner plus a number of exposure which includes BOSL and ICON magazine spot instore promotion and much more. She will also award 5,000L$ price for the Runway Model of the month. Being chosen as one of her runway models for the week is indeed an honor and priviledge..Here are the gowns I entered for the Red Carpet Glamour

Week 1..Im wearing a Black Aria gown. Pascal my favorite Photographer chose the concept of a skyscraper at the backdrop of the red carpet.

Week 2..Im wearing Jewel. For this week Pascal chose a shot near the hallways entrance with a Red carpet along the stairway.

Week 3..Im wearing the stores free gift for the month "Sophisticat".. together with an elegant hair...I would like to use the free gift gown not because I dont want to spend( I already have lots of Bliss'gown) but to remind everyone looking at it how generous the owner of the store is giving away this fabulous gown. The concept here is one of the common uses of the Red Carpet...the awards night.
Week 4..Im wearing the BB Curves white and we had our pictorial at Bogarts an epitomy of class and style, where everything is red carpet. Again Pascal Schnyder took this wonderful shot at the stairway.
